Type of Construction: The excavation at this difficult site required the blasting of hard rock while ensuring that no damage was done on the piers of the Bronx River Parkway which are located adjacent to the new building. This modern new building is a reinforced concrete and steel masonry building which houses the District Office 12 of the Transit Police and contains facilities such as locker rooms, detective offices, and detention cells. It also features a state of the art HVAC system, a sophisticated security system and an emergency backup generator.
